My mom has gone off the deep end, in my opinion.
She’s been acting crazy about this dog for a long time now, and she doesn’t listen to a word I say about it.
I keep telling her that she’s spending too much money on her dog, but it’s like she has a total mental block when it comes to that dog. The most recent crazy thing that she’s started talking about doing for this dog is putting in a special heating and cooling system for him. I asked her what in the world her dog would need his own heating and cooling system for and she looked at me like I was crazy. She started to tell me about all of the different reasons that the climate in our area justifies getting a heating and cooling system for her dog. I will admit that the weather around here gets a little crazy from time to time. My mom says that if she needs to turn on the air conditioning inside the house so she can start cooling off, then that means her little dog needs some air conditioning too. I keep telling her that it’s just a dog, but she said that this dog is just like her own child. That kind of remark just makes me roll my eyes. See, back when I was a kid, I begged for years for her to buy me a window unit air conditioning system for my room. I asked her over and over for a window unit A/C for my birthday or for Christmas, but she always said no. I can’t believe that she has decided to give her dog an air conditioner and a furnace system. It makes me so mad that her dumb dog is going to have an A/C and I never had one the whole time I was growing up.
