Thinking about a heat pump

I could have HVAC control in my bedroom and a separate control in the kitchen

I am debating on getting a ductless heat pump. Right now my family uses an electric fireplace in the living room for heating and we don’t own an air conditioner. There is simply no need to have a cooling system. Living in the north, the summers are brief and a bit underwhelming. Going through menopause means that it always feels like summer to me though. I have been researching adding a window air conditioner in my room. I don’t like the look of them, the electricity they waste or the power associated with the device. A ductless heat pump mounts high on an exterior wall and looks very modern. The heat pump also is quite energy efficient since it uses existing heat energy rather than creates it. Another perk is a heat pump provides both heating and cooling. I could have a heater in my bedroom if I wanted or AC all year around. With the heat pump contained in my room, nobody in the house would be affected by my weird climate control. Additionally, my bedroom is the floor above the kitchen. I could have an outdoor air compressor and two indoor air handlers hooked to the same unit. I could have HVAC control in my bedroom and a separate control in the kitchen. Adding a little heat in the kitchen during the winter would be nice. It would also be nice having cooling when I turn on the stove in the summertime. A heat pump isn’t totally necessary for my household, but it would sure make my life nicer.
