When I was a kid, I had no idea how you were supposed to clean your room.
- I just knew that if my mom told me that I had to clean my room, it was absolutely essential that I clean my room unless I wanted to get into trouble.
My mom would kill me if I failed to clean my room. Thankfully, I found a way to clean quickly. One of the ways that I would do that is by throwing all of the stuff on my floor into the closet. Usually, my mom did not check the closet, so I was able to get away with cleaning it like that. Another way that I was able to clean quickly was by sweeping dust and small things into the vent that connected my room to the HVAC system. Again, I had no idea what the consequences would be for sweeping all of that stuff into the vent of my HVAC system when I was doing this. Literally, I practiced sweeping stuff into the vents for the HVAC system often. However, one day, I noticed that my room was not getting very warm during the winter. The room would be warm whenever I left the door to my room open, but at night, I would lose heat, and the furnace was doing a terrible job of keeping my room cold. Eventually, my parents decided to call the HVAC technician to check our furnace. The HVAC technician quickly realized what was happening, and he told my parents that he needed to clean the duct in my room. They found so much trash and dirt in the duct from my cleaning, and I got into a lot of trouble. I never realized that it would cost them money to pay the HVAC technician because of my cleaning.
