My husband and I are in the middle of a big fight about our HVAC system. We don’t usually end up in fights about very many things. We have a pretty good relationship for the most part, but certain things about him really get on my nerves. This whole situation with our HVAC system, for instance. I come from a family that believes in repairing things and saving them. My dad was a very handy guy and he could work on and fix just about anything, including our furnace and air conditioning system. We never had an HVAC technician at our house when I was growing up because my dad fixed everything and kept the HVAC unit in good working order. Well, the same furnace and central air conditioning system that was there in the house when I was growing up is still there now and I am 44 years old! If that tells you anything, it should say exactly how I was brought up. If something can be fixed, then you shouldn’t spend money on a new one. My husband is the exact opposite, though. He doesn’t want to spend any time or energy on trying to repair our existing HVAC unit in our house. He thinks that we might as well just put the repair costs toward another high efficiency heating and cooling system. I mean, I can see his point to a certain extent, but I really think that we could salvage our existing HVAC unit. We’ve been fighting with each other about this for days now and I’m tired of it!
