I am no stranger to the wild days of youth.
When I was a kid I was a crazy young man.
I had little regard for the law or my own personal safety. As such, I got into a lot of shenanigans that probably should have had bigger consequences. However, I always lucked out and I never got into a lot of trouble. All of that being said, I think there is some baseline level of respect that needs to be addressed when it comes to my equally wild step children. These kids are so spoiled that I absolutely cannot deal with them. Recently, my step-daughter has started using my house as her personal air quality control lodge. I feel like she is continually changing the thermostat without asking if she is allowed to adjust the indoor air temperature programming. We would prefer to keep the central heating, cooling, and ventilation system on its scheduled air Temperature control plan for the sake of our energy bills and health of the HVAC system. However, she does not care about our HVAC preferences. In fact, whenever I bring up the heating and cooling system expenses to my step daughter, she simply rolls her eyes and goes back to fiddling with the thermostat. I couldn’t figure out why she was so obsessed with the indoor air temperature for a long time. It actually took months for me to realize that she wasn’t so worried about the hot and cold air flowing through her vents, so much as she was utilizing the air quality control system to hide her illicit activities. I don’t care if you want to smoke weed in my house, but stop driving up my energy bills with your disrespectful thermostat usage.
