A short period of time ago, my Grandparents passed away & they left all of their property to my sibling & I! We honestly expected our parents to get the property & the farm, however our Grandparents left everything to us.
My sibling & I were immediately charged with a good deal of responsibility.
We didn’t actually have the desire to live in the property until some repairs could be made… In order to make the necessary repairs, the property had to be cleaned from the top to the bottom. My Grandparents had a good amount of items in their property! Some people would say they were easily hoarders, but I suppose my Grandparents enjoyed finding antique things. It took roughly 2 weeks to actually clean everything out of the property. A few of the items went to a thrift store & we had a yard sale on the property on top of that. When it came time to completely clean out the shed & the garage, my sibling & I were truly overwhelmed. The building was actually filled with items from the top to the bottom. We made the choice to have an open garage sale & both of us told people to make an offer on anything they wished to have in the garage… A collector noticed a desk back in the garage & he asked if we had more information about that unique piece of furniture. My sibling & I did not have any information about the oak desk. We did however find a letter in the corner of the desk & the date was 1903. The collector was telling my sibling & I that the antique desk was most definitely worth thousands of dollars. He told us not to sell the desk without consulting with an antique supplier.
