My grandfather may not officially be an HVAC technician anymore, but that doesn’t mean that he still doesn’t do HVAC work anymore.
I don’t know what my grandfather would do if he didn’t have any HVAC work to do.
Ever since my grandfather was a kid, he was constantly tinkering around with things. His dad noticed that he loved fixing things, and he decided to encourage him to find a job working for an HVAC technician while he was in school. My grandfather enjoyed earning the money, but he enjoyed working on HVAC units even more. He went to a trade school and became an official HVAC technician, and he continued working for the same HVAC company that he was working with before. My grandfather worked his way up in the HVAC company, and when the owner of the HVAC company retired, he offered my grandfather the HVAC company to lead, but my grandfather actually turned down the offer. He said that if he became the owner of the HVAC company, he would be stuck in the office. My father continued being the service HVAC technician. That meant that he was the one that traveled to other houses and fixed their HVAC units for them. Finally, he became too old to do the work of the HVAC technician efficiently, and he retired from the HVAC company. However, after only a few months of being retired, he couldn’t take it anymore. Now, he is constantly working on and inspecting HVAC units of family members. My HVAC unit is in pristine condition because of my grandfather, and I know that it is the same with all of my family.
