Two months ago, my boss told everyone that we’d have to start working from home.
She instructed us to take our monitors and any belongings from our desks that we needed in order to work.
At the time, she anticipated we’d be working outside the office for 2 weeks. However, I’m still working from my home and it’s been 2 months! When I first started working from home, I couldn’t believe the amount of free time I had. I no longer had to drive to and from the office, which saved me 30 minutes each day. When all my work was completed, I didn’t have to sit at my desk and look busy. With all the free time on my hands, I decided to get some work done around my house. The first thing I wanted to accomplish was my HVAC system. It was time for my annual HVAC service appointment anyway, and I wanted to replace my air filter with a HEPA one. When I called my HVAC guy, he told me he was booked solid for 6 weeks! Everyone else who was stuck at home wanted to have their HVAC system’s serviced too. I didn’t mind waiting to have my HVAC equipment serviced, but I really wanted to switch out my air filter for a HEPA certified one. These filters are known for being the best at eliminating airborne illnesses. When I went to order one online though, they were all out of stock! Not only was everyone hiring my HVAC guy at the same time, but all the HEPA air filters were gone too!
