How I got into real estate

Although many people go into real estate to get rich, I fell into it out of necessity.

When I left the army, I needed to find a steady job.

It just so happened that a close neighbor of mine was getting his real estate license at the same time and urged me to give it a shot. The process was easier than I expected, although it took a few years to gradually get better job positions from one company to the next. When I was 36, I decided to buy an old home and flip it after making repairs and renovations. It was a huge leap of faith on our part, although I was thankfully successful on our first venture into the real estate market as a free agent. I made a profit on the first home and kept repeating the process as I amassed more capital. Before long I opened an office and started hiring employees to help with the burgeoning real estate business. Recently I had to find a maid for hire to help with cleaning in all of my rental properties after I expanded into the property management business. I mainly need a commercial cleaner who is talented with floor cleaning when previous tenants move out so the floors are repaired and cleaned before new tenants move in. The homes either have tile floors, carpeted floors, wood floors, or a combination of several or all. If there is a lot of dirt and grime pushed into the grout in between the tiles, heavy duty cleaning products are required. Thankfully the maid who cleans our rental properties is experienced with commercial cleaning. She’s phenomenal at her task, even if she’s under time restraints.
