I had to get my ductwork sealed

I designated an entire afternoon for this Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional to repair the air duct, & I’m really happy that I did! He spent the whole afternoon climbing into the air duct & locating the leaks

During our last Heating, Ventilation, & A/C appliance repair appointment, the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional pointed out something that I’d never recognized in the past. While he was walking through our dwelling, he noticed that all the HVAC vents were covered in dust. I certainly will admit, I noticed that there was dust on the air vent covers & I had been meaning to clean them! However, life had been so hectic that I’d never gotten around to cleaning them. I was pretty embarrassed when the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional called me out on the mess. However, when he pointed out the dust, he wasn’t making a reference to my cleaning skills, the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional was saying that the dust buildup was a small issue caused by a much bigger problem within. According to the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional, dusty air vents were a sign of HVAC duct leaks. If there were leaks within the HVAC duct, the dust & debris would easily slip out & then buildup on the air vents. In order to get the leaky air duct fixed, I needed to call a separate Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional who specialized in cleaning & repairing air ducts. I designated an entire afternoon for this Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professional to repair the air duct, & I’m really happy that I did! He spent the whole afternoon climbing into the air duct & locating the leaks. He washed out the ducts & repaired the holes with duct tape. I watched him very carefully so I could learn what he was doing in case the setback came about again. When he was eventually done, I could tell a pretty big difference in our air quality in no time!
