There are lots of ambitious people with 5 or 10 years plans, but I’m not one of them.

I know of people I work beside who have moved up in the business, and I wish them well. These individuals wanted more out of life, but I like my life as it is. This position has great benefits, it pays well, gives a cost of residing raise once a year, and never calls more than 40 hours every 5 days. Why would I not want the life of an AC worker just for a little bit more cash? Most evenings and weekends are always free. Since the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C supplier doesn’t drug test for pot, I can smoke and drink as much as I want during this time. This place is really legit, and the manager is a sweetheart, but no nonsense about the behavior of AC workers. Since we interact with the public, we serve as representatives for the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C supplier owners. So, we always need to be neat, clean, polite, and on time. Showing up smelling of drugs and alcohol even one time will result in termination. I appreciate my position as an AC worker too much to jeopardize it! It isn’t a huge business, so if I got serious about climbing the ladder of the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C industry I’d need to move to a greater establishment, but I am delighted right where I am. As long as all remains constant, I could see being an AC worker for the rest of my life.
