My boyfriend loves to spend time outdoors. Anytime he has a free weekend, he is anxious to go camping. He packs up his tent, sleeping bag and gear and heads off into the woods. He’s happy to cook over an open flame, sleep on the ground and fish in a lake or stream. He enjoys hiking and has no problem with any kind of weather condition. He constantly asks me to go camping with him, and I’m reluctant. If I’m going to take a vacation, I want to stay somewhere that is an upgrade to my home. I look forward to spa treatments, a fitness center, room service, beach access and a giant swimming pool. I want to enjoy luxury. Otherwise, I’d rather just stay home and appreciate the amenities I’ve worked hard to afford. I’ve spent quite a bit of money on a top quality mattress and bamboo bed sheets. I’ve invested into a top-of-the-line oven, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. I am so happy having access to hot water for my shower. I like to be able to adjust the thermostat and start up the heating or cooling system. If it’s raining, windy, hot, humid or the outside temperature suddenly drops, it doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t worry about getting bit by bugs, getting sweaty, shivering or sweating. I purchased an adaptable-speed furnace and air conditioner that maintain ideal temperature. The system automatically adjusts to changing conditions to avoid unpleasant temperature swings. It circulates and filters the air to keep a clean and healthy living environment. I have no desire to sleep outside.
