I just really didn’t know anything when it came to indoor air quality.
Since I live in a somewhat rural area, I just figured that our indoor air quality was good.
The outdoor air quality was good because the air was clean or at least that’s what I thought. But when the pandemic hit, everything changed. I had to leave the zone controlled HVAC of the office to work from my home. There was a lot that wasn’t easy about that. For one, I wasn’t alone. The kids were studying online from the safety of our air conditioning. My wife and I were both trying to figure out just how to do our work without being inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office. Eventually, we found a rhythm that worked for us. But as the pandemic grew more serious, I wanted to do more to protect my family. So I started learning about how to strengthen the immune system. And one of the key areas with that is the indoor air quality of the house. I didn’t realize that there were so many things giving off synthetic toxins. Then throw in the pollen and the pet dander and we needed to help out our respiratory system. So, I learned a very easy way to do that is to change the type of HVAC air filter. We went from the cheap, paper air filters to the HEPA filter. That was a huge change as the HEPA filter actually removes more than 99 percent of all airborne contaminants. The indoor air drastically improved as did the health of our respiratory systems.
