Ultimately, we put the house on the market
When I was called into the office by the big bosses, I wasn’t at all prepared for what they might want. It’s a good thing that I didn’t have all that much time to think about it before the meeting. Still, I was sort of sweating it inside the zone controlled HVAC of my office. My performance review was stellar so I didn’t see a problem there. The work I was doing was going as planned and deadlines had been met accordingly. So I really was nonplussed when it came to what the big bosses wanted from me. Turns out they wanted me to leave the new residential HVAC and the finally finished renovations on our house for a new office. The pandemic had done more than just close down the office with the zone controlled HVAC. There was a regional office that had fallen way off and needed some immediate leadership and direction. They wanted me to head that up. It was a promotion of sorts but I’d have to leave the zone controlled HVAC of the corporate offices after I just finally got there. And I would have to tell my wife that all the effort we put into the renovations on our home would be for someone else. I even offered to have my wife stay inside that perfect quality heating and air of our home. The idea was that I’d get an apartment and just go back and forth so she could stay in our home. Ultimately, we put the house on the market. That new HVAC technology ended up helping us make a bundle on the house.
