I don’t know if you’ve ever tried a UV light filter but let me tell you they are really great, I’ve used a HEPA filter for all my air filter and needs for the longest time but I decided to try a UV light filter after my local heating and air conditioning company ran out of HEPA filters.
I tried to change my HEPA filters fairly often to keep them clean and keep my indoor air quality in good shape.
Unfortunately for me, the HEPA filters are pretty popular so it isn’t uncommon for the local heating and AC businesses to go out of stock of them. I asked the HVAC technician when I was there what I could do instead of using a HEPA filter and He suggests that I use a UV light filter. He explained that the UV light filter works by killing the germs on contact, and the only thing you have to worry about is changing the bulb. I thought it was worth a try and so I decided to purchase the UV light filter, after all it would be a while before they had no HEPA filters in stock. To my surprise, I found that the UV light filter worked just as efficiently as the HEPA filters. The UV light filters are now my go-to backup whenever I don’t have any HEPA filters available. If things keep going the way they are going I just might start using the UV light filters instead. I like the fact that the UV light is guaranteed to kill the germs the moment it comes into contact with them, whereas with HEPA filters there is still a chance that some microscopic particles could get through and into your indoor air.
