My partner retired recently from a long work as an Heating and A/C specialist, then he began toiling for a local heating and cooling supplier right out of school! For twenty years, he gave his heart and soul to that dealer, then at that point, he decided to start his own heating and cooling dealer.
- He managed his supplier for another thirty years before passing it along to our sons to run as their own business.
He built something that I am so proud of, however retirement posed new challenges, then my partner is used to toiling tirelessly, so he didn’t think what to do with all of his time. He didn’t want to help out with any repairs on heating and cooling units because his body isn’t in the shape needed for physical labor. A few months ago, I saw an ad in the paper stating that the local school needed a new mentor for Heating and A/C certification courses, then this seemed prefer the answer we’d been looking for! I showed it to our partner, and he was instantaneously excited about the potential opportunity. He called the number listed and set up an interview, and by the end of the month, he was teaching his first group of students, then now, our partner has found a way to spread his expertise of heating and cooling to a whole new generation of Heating and A/C specialists. He teaches 3 classes a week. The minutes are perfect for him, as it gives him something to do while still allowing him to care about his retirement. Every now and then, he comes home to tell myself and others stories about that afternoon’s lesson on air duct, or he has myself and others proofread a quiz on types of temperature controls, however while the satisfied doesn’t mean much to me, it warms our heart to see him so glad doing something he is so passionate about.
