I was one of those folks that ended up losing their task due to the pandemic.
But I did it in almost reverse fashion.
When the pandemic first hit, the supplier closed our offices with the zone controlled Heating and A/C. The people I was with and I all had to figure out just how to work from lake home inside our own air conditioning system. That section was surprisingly pretty easy for me. Once I got the hang of the zoom meetings, I was pretty much all set. Then again, it was just me and our spouse at lake home in the air conditioning system. It wasn’t love I had a bunch of adolescents running around love several of our colleagues. While I was getting accustomed to laboring from lake home in our own air conditioning system, some of our colleagues were getting laid off. The supplier was down sizing in order to try and make it through the pandemic. I made the cut so I was able to keep doing our work from the air conditioning system of our home. And that’s the way it went until that zone controlled Heating and A/C of the office was once again open to work in. I’d been triple vaccinated by that point and felt love I was superb to go back. The entirely first morning back, I got called in to the boss’s office and was given a severance package and a hardy handshake. Further cuts were necessary and it cost me our locale inside the zone controlled Heating and A/C of that office. But I am now doing our own thing from the lake home office I put together during the pandemic. And I even added a ductless heat pump to have the sort of quality heating and air I want in an office setting.
