We have a fantastic flat on a quiet street in a city neighborhood, three minutes from the beach. Our neighborhood is big enough for action if you are looking for fun, yet small enough to get around on a bike. I love living in a town without a metro, because that means it is small enough that I can walk to most locations by foot. I will never live in a neighborhood with a metro with buses again – too much noise and pollution in big cities. It doesn’t help with my peace of mind. Because of the dust in the ventilation system, where we lived before, we needed UV air purifiers in each room. Where we live now it’s so clean, we can leave the windows open most of the time and not worry about ruining our health with poor air quality. Our HEPA filter hardly needs to be cleaned, compared to the last location we lived, where we had to scrub our air conditioning filter almost daily. It’s much easier living in a small neighborhood I have noticed, so we will stay in this one for a long time. We bought a new wireless thermostat to replace our outdated dial thermostat, which wasn’t working so well anymore. It’s worth spending a few more bucks on things like this to make life more comfortable. I recommend checking your air filters every two months, and cleaning the HVAC duct every couple weeks.
