Although a dual fuel plan is a much bigger investment than the traditional combination of a oil furnace and a/c, the benefits help to reuse the cost, the difference is the heat pump, a dual fuel plan combines an electric heat pump with a natural gas oil furnace, in cooling mode, a heat pump operates almost identically to a central a/c. It works by pulling heat from the air inside the condo and transferring it outside by way of refrigerant! When the weather cools off, a heat pump is able to reverse the operation entirely. It finds ambient heat in the outdoor air and sends it back indoors. The process avoids the burning of fossil fuels to create heat, no combustion eliminates problems over carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, fumes, tepid surfaces or greenhouse gasses! Heat pumps are wonderfully environmentally responsible. They are also safe, wipe and energy efficient… Modern heat pumps feature stretchy speed technology that allow the plan to automatically adjust capacity anywhere between 40 and 100%, running at lower speeds for longer cycles not only keeps costs to a minimum but helps with dehumidification. Heat pumps cost much less to operate than a oil furnace. However, once the outdoor temperature drops below chilly, a heat pump struggles to be effective. There’s not enough heat available in the air and the plan fails to keep up with demand. At this point, the oil furnace automatically assumes the responsibility and runs for as long as necessary. With a dual fuel system, the most advantageous source is used at any given time, ensuring ideal comfort no matter what the weather brings.
