The first time the heating supplier I work for asked us to bring our kids to work for a fun afternoon, we all thought they were joking.
As a heating serviceman, I’d had to watch my partner do such events with jealousy because we’d never had the same opportunity… During the slow season, few people are bothered with heater service, & the calls for heating repairs are also low.
The heating dealership store is also usually slow then, with the occasional customer looking to buy an electric heater for their medical professionalry. The time was ideal for bringing all those possible future heating unit innovators & Heating & A/C professional team members. My pal and I planned to show them how the thermostat works & hoped they would not try with the ones they had at home. My pal and I were also going to show them around the heating unit aisle of the heating corporation shop & why the Heating & A/C replacement at house is not forever & needs the same care as the cars. My pal and I also had fireplace displays & the boiler on exhibition because most kids are not allowed to go near this unit for their safety, however they would get to experience it on that afternoon. It was an interest-packed afternoon, & most of the team were dads with entirely few moms, so we expected a total ‘welcome to hell’ experience. Most of our kids were below ten, so they had high energy & possible fights & tantrums, however looking at all the risks, we decided to make a family fun afternoon so the moms could join in too. Best decision we made because all the people had fun without feeling left out, & no child was yelling for their mother.
