Our child is consistently bringing stuff to the apartment that she thinks she can repair, but last month, she brought another seasoned AC component apartment she found in the local dump.
I didn’t know how long it had been there, since the dump had been closed for about ten years now.
I’m sure someone could have taken the a/c there since then, however it looked pretty ratty. She asked if she could put it in her clubhouse, if she could get it laboring. My partner didn’t even guess she had a snowball’s chance of getting the a/c component running, so she told him sure. My friend and I chuckled about the chance of the a/c component ever running, from the way it looked; however, it was an excellent weekend project for him and her best friend. Three weeks later, she then came into the condo and asked if she could run an extension cord to the clubhouse. She wanted to see if the a/c was laboring. My friend and I heard nothing turn on and breathed a sigh of relief. She said she thought they needed to make a few more tweaks, however she should have the a/c running before they got out of school for the summer. I felt a twinge go up my spine, as it suddenly became a reality that our child may get the a/c component running! Now I had more worries about the a/c than I had before. I told my partner she had to either repair the a/c component and make sure it was safe, or buy an a/c for the clubhouse. I didn’t want our child and her friends being electrocuted.
