Two years ago, my sibling and his bestie signed a lease to a 2-bedroom townhouse in the southwest portion of the country. And if you know anything about this region, you’re aware that the weather can be unforgiving during the warmer months. In fact, during the month of June, the weather can escalate into the triple digits. And of course, when the weather is that hot, people depend on air conditioner to remain cool and comfortable inside their homes. Well, when my sibling and his bestie signed their lease, they had no idea that the house that they rented did not have a working HVAC unit. Actually, the unit would turn on and it would blow air, however the air was so overheated that inside their home felt like a heater on overheated afternoons. The learning on the thermostat hovered between 84 and 86 depending on how overheated the afternoon was. Those hot and cold temperatures might be ok during the afternoon if the house is empty or if you’re not doing something like cooking in the kitchen. But at night, if the indoor temperature is 84 degrees, that is a agitated night of sleep. If you manage to get any rest, you’ll honestly wake up drenched in sweat. Of course, they did what they could to rectify the issue including complaining to the landlord, however to no avail. After months of having no air conditioner, they decided to purchase a portable air conditioner. While this was a temporary fix, the portable air conditioner was not the ideal unit to keep an entire house cool! Eventually, they ended up breaking their lease and moved into a new site that has the best air conditioner.
