I have far more ties than I have tools.
This is just the plain and simple fact of the matter.
My mechanical skills are next to stupid zero. And, it should not be that way at all. I had a pops who could fix just about anything in the house or the garage. That fix it thing was just in his wheelhouse. How none of that wore off on his offspring, I still wonder about. I turned out to be that guy who just calls someone to come out and fix stuff. I mow my own yard and wash my own vehicles. But, I know I’ll just screw it up if I attempt to fix something. If there is something wrong with the house, I just call somebody. Toward the end of last winter, I called the HVAC guy because the house just didn’t stay warm when it got really cold outside. He was quick to let me know that it certainly wasn’t due to the furnace or any part of the HVAC system. The HVAC tech went over every square inch of the system and found nothing at all. The HVAC unit was in great shape and should stay that way for a number of year to come. I was stumped. But, the HVAC guy told me that it might be that my house was not tight enough. He told me to buy a temperature gun and explore the entire outside of my house for temperature disparities. I did just that and most of the house was okay. But, I found five huge leaks around some windows and several all the way through gaps in the exterior. Of course, I called a guy to come out and seal it up.
