The ductwork is slightly off centered

My best friend Tate and I recently bought a house to flip and sell.

Tate is the one who can do hardcore plumbing and electrical work.

I am the workhorse that makes spaces look pretty. I do sanding, mudding, drywall and add new fixtures left and right. The two of us have flipped three houses before with success. This one house might be a doozy for us though. I recently was in the living room updating it. I had to sand the wood walls and paint with four coats of white paint. I then had to scrape the popcorn ceiling and paint. When I was up on a ladder I happened to be right by the HVAC vent. I noticed the opening for the HVAC vent wasn’t right. The ductwork doesn’t open perfectly center to the vent, slightly off to the right side. So that means about half of the air is trapped in the walls and the other half gets blown out into the room. That solved the mystery on why the living room is always sweltering. The living room skylights also add in tons of heat as well. Cooling the living room has been a disaster. Tate doesn’t know much about HVAC and doesn’t want to spend money messing with the ductwork or adding more powerful AC. We are loosely thinking of covering up the air vent and showing the house in the winter. You wouldn’t mind a hot room in the winter. There is a gas fireplace in the middle of the living room too.
