Sometimes renting is the smarter option over buying.
Every now and then I need to haul major, heavy items.
I rent a pickup truck from a friend rather than own one. The truck would just sit on my property maybe a few times a year. I also live in the upper north where it is cold most of the year. I spend a lot of time ice skating. People are always shocked to find out I rent a pair of skates rather than own. Yes, I skate all the time but I am not Wayne Gretsky. I don’t need quality ice skates to go in a loop once a month. When it was the time to buy a heating system or rent one for my business, you can bet that I picked the rental option. There are many pros to boiler rental over owning. First, what size, style and brand of boiler do you want? When buying, you need to be super certain in every aspect of the obiler since you are getting it for at least 50 years. I knew I would probably change my mind on the boiler in a few years. Renting gives me the freedom to make a mistake and get a new one, free of charge, installed. Another benefit to renting a boiler is if something is wrong with it, the company has to do the heater repair. If I owned the boiler, that expense would be on me. My business is also a seasonal one too. I don’t need to run a boiler all year around. So for a few months out of the year, I just need to pay a small boiler rental fee. Seems like the smart route.
