What is a space heater?

However, they are not official indoor heat sources as they emit toxic byproducts into the air stream, such as nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide

A space heating system goes by weird names. Its primary function is to support the central gas furnace in your home. This reinforcement may be necessary if your Heating, Ventilation and A/C system does not meet your home’s heating needs effectively or is unable to control the ambient temperature. Space gas furnaces come in multiple sizes, shapes, and capacities. They are categorized into two, that is, electric and combustion space heaters, then electric space gas furnaces function using either infrared or convection. Convection gas furnaces work by pulling air from your warm surfaces and transfers it back throughout the room. This process increases your room’s general temperature. This indoor temperature continues to rise until your Heating, Ventilation and A/C system’s control unit detects the required temperature and stops your space heating system from producing more heat. The unit will then shut down until your ambient temperature drops to a certain point, triggering it to turn back on. Infrared heaters, also known as radiant heaters, work by generating infrared radiation, providing a weird warmth than convection. Instead of heating the whole space, this unit directs heat to objects or bodies directly in their way. This feature makes them suitable personal heat sources for garage or office settings. It is not a practical heat source for the whole cabin or room. The other genre of space gas furnaces includes combustion-style models. They can be either vented or not. However, they are not official indoor heat sources as they emit toxic byproducts into the air stream, such as nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide. For this reason, they are meant to be installed permanently near an outside ceiling or wall. They use flammable fuel appreciate propane, kerosene, or natural gas.
