My child said it was just a joke.

My child prefers to play tricks on people.

Everything to him is a joke.

Last week, he pulled a trick on our partner and I that was not a joke. I don’t know what possessed him to recognize that taking our a/c equipment apart and kneeling the pieces all over the picnic table, was a good idea. My partner and I had gone to the movies. Both of us were only out of the home a couple of minutes, or however long it takes to see a movie and eat lunch. When all of us got home, it was the site of a destroyed a/c equipment that greeted us. I knew our child had something to do with it. Even before all of us were in the home our partner was calling Joseph from upstairs! Five minutes later, Joseph made his way down the steps looking exhausted, however smiling. He knew all of us had seen what he had done, and tried to tell us it was just a joke. He said that all the parts were marked and he would really be able to get the a/c equipment back together. My partner’s response was that if he did not have the a/c equipment back together before he went to bed, he was going to pay the Heating and Air Conditioning company whatever it cost to have it put back together. Joseph wasn’t genuinely happy with his father’s anger, although he headed outside. I believe I don’t have to tell you that the next morning our partner was calling the Heating and Air Conditioning company and Joseph was trying to find a part-time task
