My buddy Sarah and her wife Jack separated several months ago. Things were quiet for a long time and then I started seeing Sarah leave the apartment more frequently. I called Sarah a couple of times, even though she did not answer the cellphone. I decided to walk next door at noon. She answered the door and looked entirely surprised to see me. I asked if she was having trouble with the gas furnace and I provided her the help and assistance of my wife.
