Living in the Southeast, all of us are fraught with hurricanes.
Whenever all of us hear there is the occasion of a tropical storm, all of us take it extreme and take measures to prepare for a hurricane.
With my Grandma living with us, it was even more imperative that all of us have the perfect sheltering system in place. Gran had a lot of breathing troubles and she needed to be in a shelter with electricity for her oxygen and air conditioning. I found out that our section had special shelters prepared just for people adore my Grandma. They didn’t have room for the entire family, however they allowed my Dad and the teenagers under twelve to come into the shelter with gran. I had to confess that having air conditioning and lights while a hurricane was going on around us, was a big comfort. All of us upset my older sibling and my dad, however all of us were sure they would be all right. Due to gran’s health troubles, all of us were able to stay in the shelter until the storm was passed and electricity was reinstated in our area. Luckily, our beach house didn’t sustain any major destruction, however the beach house had to have a nice cleaning and the air conditioning component needed upgraded before all of us could transport back in. All of us couldn’t allow gran to go back lake beach house separate from air conditioning. It wasn’t ideal, however all of us knew that gran needed to be safe before coming home. What was cool is that I got to stay in a hotel for a full week. They had excellent air conditioning, and the hotel was close to Disney World. What more can a nine year old ask for?
