I am often easily thankful for the mini split heating & A/C unit that I have in our home.
There is a separate unit for the upstairs & another unit for the first floor of the house.
This has consistently allowed me to individually control the temperatures of each floor in the house. I do not have a lot of people living in the house, so I hardly ever use the a/c upstairs. My dining room is on the first floor, however during the Winter time weeks I run the heating system on both levels so the pipes do not freeze. I do not keep the temperature set easily high upstairs, but the plan does run… Last Summer I had friends visiting & they stayed upstairs. They were supposed to stay for a week & they ended up staying almost an entire week. I appreciate having extra people in the house, but the a/c upstairs ran consistently separate from much of a break, then by the time our friends left, I knew there was a complication with the plan that needed to be addressed. The a/c was laboring just good when our friends arrived. They had that temperature set at 77 degrees & it was easily cool inside of the upstairs areas. Towards the end of their stay, the temperature didn’t suppose comfortable at 69 degrees. I decided that I would contact the A/C service service after our friends left. I expected to hear terrible news from the service service, but the issue didn’t turn out to be as terrible as I expected. The air filter needed to be changed, because the unit had not been worked on in several years.
