My boss and I were working on a commercial HVAC repair job on Saturday. Was my weekend to work and I got lucky that the boss decided to work on Saturday. When he came to the office, he decided to assist me with the commercial HVAC repair so I could go home early for the day. I thought that was a really nice thing for my boss to do. He doesn’t have to help at all. It was my scheduled job and my weekend to work. While my boss and I were at the factory downtown, another commercial HVAC company decided to stop at the business to talk with the owner and manager about prices, fees, and their company motto. I couldn’t believe that guy stopped to poach our business when our company vehicle was parked in the front lot. There is absolutely no way that the guy didn’t see our vehicle. I came around the corner with my boss, just as the guy was finishing up his conversation with the manager of the plant. The guy asked if I was looking for a good job and I immediately told the guy that I already had one. There was no way that I was going to show any intimidation at all with my boss right there by my side. I wanted the guy to know that I had his back. I hate when other businesses try to act dirty and do awful things like that. It shows no class to show up at someone’s job to poach their current client.
