My sister has four kids and they are all under ten.
When everyone comes to visit, I have a house full of people.
This year they all came to stay with me for the holidays. It was so nice to get to spend the morning with my nieces and nephews but my house was filled with people. My mom and dad came to visit my sister and the kids. My brother and his wife were there as well. I made dinner for everyone nearly every night. Honestly, I didn’t mind, but it was tiring. I made spaghetti and meatballs one night and the other night I did a nacho and taco bar. During one of the visits when my brother had his kids over too, we had a problem with the electricity downstairs. All of the kids were downstairs playing and the lights suddenly shut off. One of the kids thought that another one was playing a trick. Then the little ones started crying and I ran down stairs to turn on the lights. I couldn’t get any of the light switches to work. I had to call a residential electrician to fix the problem. It was already too late at night to call that evening, so everyone had to sleep upstairs on the floor in the living room. The kids were way too scared to sleep without any lights at all. Luckily, the wiring issue was easy to fix and the residential electrical contractor didn’t take long to find the problem. Everything was back to normal the next night.
