I was hanging out with my friend Peter last night on a bench in front of the beach where I play ball. I really love this small beach town and want to stay here the rest of my life as it is small and peaceful and I can walk or ride my bike everywhere. I still want to travel back to the states a couple times a year to see my family and friends but this is where I call my home now. I start working for the local contractor again tomorrow after a nice long break. I was gone for two months and came back here three days ago and it just feels great to be back. I do programming of smart thermostats in people’s homes and stock the shelves at the local business three days a week. I work about 15 hours a week and that pays my rent, then I work a few days a month teaching beach volleyball which pays my food for the month. It’s an easy job working for the HVAC company and teaching volleyball isn’t even like working for me as I love to teach it. I was an engineer a long time ago working for an HVAC manufacturing company but it was too many hours a week and too stressful so I left it in search of a simpler life. I think I found it here and I really am grateful for my decisions.
