My mother was in the hospital and needed me to help out once she got out.
I love my mother but there is no way that I would live with her.
To put it nicely, she is hoarder and was not the nicest person when I was growing up. Yes she loved me but she had her flaws. All parents do. So I was happy to help her out but I put my foot down when it came to staying in her house. I thought my only alternative would be renting a hotel room by the month. But hotels are kind of gross and the kinds of people who live in hotels aren’t the types I wanted to hang around with. That is why I am glad I found out about short term house rentals. The houses are all furnished and everything, like in a hotel, but it really is your own home. They have a kitchen and everything and its less shady than a hotel. The price is very reasonable too. So that is what I did. I rented a furnished house just 2 miles from my mother’s house. I worked as an in-home care taker during the day for my mother then I went back to my furnished house, watched TV, ate my dinner, and relaxed. Being able to unwind at the end of the day like this made caring for my mother bearable. After 2 months she was finally well enough to take care of herself again. She wanted me to stay around but it was time for me to be going home. As much as I liked my short term housing, I really was ready to live with my husband again in my own house.
