I found out that my nephew was in jail for petty theft.
He is only 12 years old.
His parents are losers. There is no way around that. They failed as human beings and as parents. I don’t just say that because Pete ended up in jail. Lots of kids make mistakes in life. No matter how good their parents are, kids will make mistakes. However it is a fact that my sister is a terrible parent. She is on drugs most of the time and just leaves her son to raise himself. Well we have seen where that went. Once I found out that Pete was in jail I hired a criminal attorney to work on getting him out. Then I hired a family lawyer to help me get custody of Pete. I know this will cause a huge rift in the family but I don’t care. Pete’s wellbeing is much more important than anyone’s hurt feelings. Of course, I talked to Pete first. He is on board with using a family lawyer to make me his legal custodian. Pete actually told me that he would love that. I truly believe that children want rules and boundaries. Regular meals don’t hurt either. So I really hope the family lawyer is able to help me get custody of my nephew. Of course I also had a long talk with Pete about his legal issues and theft. I expect him to pay me back for the criminal lawyer over the next several years. Pete is ok with that but he’s not exactly happy.
