I was surprised when my wife started giving me an issue about the expensive air filters I always buy.
She asked me what HEPA was and I told her HEPA air filters are the best you can get and are worth the cost. She had the nerve to tell me that I was wasting money as I could get the cheaper air filters which were just as good. She told me that her friends get the cheaper air filters and they are just fine. Then I had to ask her, what was the air quality like at her friends’ houses. She had to think about it for a minute and then she remembered how she would see dust floating around and sometimes she would cough and sneeze a lot at their places. She then thought about how nice our air quality was. I told her our air quality was so nice because of the HEPA air filters. She still didn’t seem to believe me, so I told her I would prove it to her. I didn’t want to do this, but she basically left me with no choice. I had her buy the cheap air filters she was talking about getting, and she seemed excited that I let her do that. We installed the cheap air filter and I told her we would wait and see if it was a good idea. It was about two weeks later when our air quality was awful and it was hard to even breathe in the house. She told me to please put the HEPA air filters back in the HVAC as I smiled and laughed. She had to learn her lessons about using proper air filters!
