At the HVAC company that I work for, we commonly go out with a partner for all the major HVAC repair jobs.
Every so often we will go solo, but that’s only if we have really simple jobs for the day like swapping out air filters or installing a humidifier.
I don’t mind going solo, but things are so much more enjoyable when you have a good partner who has your back. I have been working with an older gentleman who really knows his stuff. Honestly, the amount of knowledge I have gotten has been extremely valuable during all these years working with this man. I am pretty sad now because he is about to retire. He says not to be sad about him leaving, he said he was getting tired and he just wanted to enjoy his retirement. I decided to throw a little get together with all the other HVAC professionals to say farewell to my partner in HVAC. He had a great time and appreciated everybody being there for him and being great fellow co-workers. He even gave a speech to tell everybody how much he enjoyed his service and now he just wanted to relax on a tropical beach somewhere for the rest of his days. Everybody got a good laugh from that. I just wonder who my next partner will be and if I will be able to provide someone new with all the advanced knowledge that I got when I was new in the HVAC industry. My former partner says that I will do a good job, he’s sure of it.
