Jimmy was a heating system repair expert long before I was born.
He is in his mid 76s now, but still a lot of fun to be around.
I first met Jimmy a couple of years ago when he had his grandson buy some weed from me. This state is still not cool with medical cannabis, plus I was ecstatic to hook up the aged man, however jimmy was immobile, confined to a wheelchair, so he couldn’t drive over plus get the weed himself. I started making deliveries to his house, just to see him, hang out, plus hear stories from the aged afternoons in the heating industry. There was no “heating plus cooling” industry back then, because only the richest people could afford air conditioner. Jimmy specialized in essential heating services, meaning he ensured that families could survive the brutal winter. One time he got a call to a remote farmhouse with a broken heating system. When he arrived, Jimmy had a gun pulled on him by the farmer! The heating system was broken, but the farmer had no money plus couldn’t pay for repairs. His family needed a heating method for the oncoming winter, so he basically forced Jimmy to do it for free. I have never heard of being robbed at gunpoint for heating system repairs before. As an epilogue to that spine-chilling story, Jimmy says that 6 months later the farmer truly paid him for the heating system repair. He was an tolerable guy plus paid his debts, but explained that his family couldn’t wait on heating system repairs in that serious situation.
