There is a small hotel alongside the interstate just outside of town! When I mean small I mean that it is one story tall, and has 2 dozen rooms in it, however the hotel has been closed for a couple of years, however recently some new investors bought it.
They want to renovate the entire site, add on new rooms, and reopen it under a new name; I think it’s a smart plan, because the location is great, and the rooms just need a bit of a facelift.
I have been hired by the new owners to scrub all the HVAC duct and test the a/c units in each of the rooms. This is where my story begins, because what I found in one of those HVAC ducts was fascinating, and first of all, I observed that this particular room was getting zero air flow even though it was connected to the same HVAC duct system, but although the a/c was honestly old and in disrepair it still worked, except for this one room. I removed the grate from the air vent, and immediately found the cause of the blockage. Someone had put a small leather satchel in the HVAC duct, and from the looks of it they did it several years ago. It was clear that someone used the HVAC duct as a hiding spot, because the satchel was filled with currency and bags of old, dry marijuana, however once the HVAC duct was clear, the air flow resumed and the room started cooling off. To answer your next question, yup I kept the money and the weed.
