Within seconds of there being a hint of a problem with anything in the house, my husband is on the phone.
He calls his brother so they can work on it together.
His brother does the same thing. Both my sister-in-law and I worry whenever they pick up the phone. We know the repair is going to be higher than it would need to be when the expert came out to repair what they botched. It really worried me when the furnace started making strange noises. The first thing I did was hide his phone. I made sure my husband couldn’t call his brother. If he and his brother worked on the furnace, I would make a phone call to the HVAC company when they were done. I would rather call the HVAC company now and get them to the house, rather than call after my husband and brother-in-law put their heads together and their hands on the furnace. My husband was frantically looking for his phone while I was using mine to call the HVAC company. He told me he was sure there was a furnace component going bad. He didn’t know which one, but once he and his brother got inside the furnace, they would find it. Before he could find his phone, the HVAC technician was at the house. My husband had forgotten to change the air filters in almost three months. That’s one more thing I need to put on the calendar. I’ll either need to remind him every month that he needs to change the air filter in the HVAC system, or learn how to do it myself.
