I no sooner got outside than my glasses were fogging up.
It was so humid outside, that the warmth of breath was causing moisture to form on my glasses.
I couldn’t see without them, but I couldn’t see when they were fogged. The fogging got even worse when I walked in my house. I knew I needed a dehumidifier for the air conditioning. I was told central air conditioning units had dehumidifiers in them, but mine wasn’t working very well. I called the HVAC company and told them I needed service. After mentioning that my home always felt humid and hot, they sent an HVAC technician to the house the next day. He asked when I bought the AC unit, and I told him it was here when I bought the house three years ago. It wasn’t until this year that I noticed how humid it was in the house. He did an inspection in the air conditioning unit, and told me I needed a new one. The AC unit was almost twenty years old, and it wasn’t big enough for the house. I showed him where the addition had been put on, and he nodded. He said no one had upgraded the air conditioner to work with the new addition. After getting all the information, I told him I wanted something with high efficiency. If I was going to put thousands of dollars into a new air conditioning unit, I wanted something that would help save me money. I wanted a home free of excess humidity, and cool enough to be comfortable, which mine was not.
