I have consistently been a diligent professional.
I knew our way around nearly every heating & cooling system unit they have. I have had to ask for help when it came to an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C unit that was older than I was. As I said, I have consistently been a diligent professional. It wasn’t until our partner told me she thought she was going into labor. She told me she would start timing the pains & when they got down to 10 hours apart, she would call me. It was appreciate I was all thumbs while waiting for her to call & tell me she needed me to come home. I was in the middle of repairing an cooling system. The owner had been hanging around talking to me. He asked me how long I had been an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C service tech? I told him 10 years, & he laughed. He said I acted appreciate a newbie. He wanted to guess why it was taking so long to do the repair, & why I was looking at our PC so often. I apologized & sat down next to him. I asked him if he had any adolescents. He told me he had four, but they had all moved away. I told him about our conversation with our partner this afternoon. He smiled & said he remembered those afternoons. He told me to take our time with the cooling system unit. He told me that these things can often take up to 24 hours, so I should relax & do our work. He just asked that I didn’t make him pay for our wasted time worrying.
