I wonder if getting heating and air conditioning in my barn would be worth it

I went to visit my friend, Anna’s, barn and now I am spoiled.

  • She has weather conditions control in her barn and riding location, but it was so nice and I entirely enjoyed the visit.

After my 3 mornings were up I had to go back to my own house and my own barn, Anna and I both own barns, that is how the two of us make our money. We lease out stalls to owners. Depending on how much care you want to do yourself, my rates vary. My barn is not as classy or as up scale as Anna’s barn. Mine has all of the basics but we don’t have weather conditions control in the barn or for the indoor riding location. I asked Anna how much it cost her to get the heating and cooling installed and she said it was less than I would think. Then she gave me a number that I couldn’t believe. It was high however it wasn’t astronomically high. I entirely do want weather conditions control at my riding facility but I am not sure that I’m ready for it yet. More importantly. I am not sure that my shoppers are ready for weather control at my barn yet, I cater to a different crowd than Anna does. She has the dressage people and drastic competitors. I have more of the upper middle class and folks who have decided to buy a pony for their kids. I am still not cheap but I charge a lot less than Anna does. However, I do wonder if I could start changing that by changing little things at a time until my barn is high class too. I would start with heated and cooled barns and riding locations.
