This was our senior year in college and our fraternity wanted to go out with a bang.
We were throwing a large party for not just our fraternity, but for our sister fraternity, too.
We thought about having a large BBQ like they had last year. Then we were reminded about what happened with that BBQ. The grills had been forgotten and left unattended while the guys went for beer and to find their girls. We ended up with a fire that spread to the open lot behind us and downed three trees while threatening not just our fraternity house, but two others. We almost lost our fraternity because of that one. My brothers and I got together and decided a BBQ was out of the picture. One of the guys suggested we order prepared meals online. I threw a pillow at him and told him he sounded like one of those ads for GrubHub, and everyone laughed. We soon got serious when we realized he may be right. We didn’t have to order prepared meals from big restaurants. There was no reason why we couldn’t get local food delivery from McDonalds, Burger King, or even KFC. Large orders often came with a discount, which saved us cooking and time away from the fun of the party. We called several different local food delivery services. We ended up with fried chicken, fried fish, french fries, baked potatoes, and coleslaw, and we had leftovers at the end of the night. Thanks to local food delivery, the party was a huge success.
