Carl worked nights and was rarely at home during the day.
Due to the demands of his two jobs, he never noticed when things needed repair in his apartment.
After months of working himself to the ground, he fell ill. His doctor warned him to take some time and rest. Otherwise, he wouldn’t recover fast. Carl spoke to his bosses and got two weeks off. It was the mini-vacation he needed after long hours and a lack of enough sleep. The first day at home, Carl slept all day. Later in the evening, it was getting chilly, so he turned on the heating unit. That’s when he noticed something was wrong. The air conditioner was running, but nothing was happening. It wasn’t heating the house as it did before. It dawned on him that he had missed his annual HVAC maintenance date after receiving a call from the aircon company. They’d followed it up with an SMS notification, but Carl never had time to be at home for the AC maintenance. He got his phone out and dialled the air ventilation unit service near his home. Luckily, the number went through, and he booked an HVAC expert to come by the following day. Carl had to spend a cold night wrapped around blankets. The next morning, he was happy to see the aircon mechanic at his door ready to check the heating system. She went to work checking his central AC for faults and found out it needed significant repairs. There were many parts to replace, which Carl had no option but to pay for after missing HVAC maintenance. The air conditioner specialist had some of the faulty parts, but she had to call for others. It took a while to get the heating unit working once more, but Carl was glad the HVAC repairs went well. He wouldn’t spend another night in a chilly apartment.
