My friend Tom and I both work in the homeowner solutions business.
Tom started working towards being a cooling specialist straight after graduating high school while I had no idea what I wanted to do after high school and in some twist of fate we both found ourselves as apprentices with the local HVAC supplier company at the same time. He remembered a time when a customer came and asked me why she needed to buy an air purification system yet her quality HVAC would do the same work. It was my first day while he had been there for a week and he saved the moment by explaining to her the functions of both. He effortlessly explained to her the positive effects to her indoor air quality of getting equipment that purifies and is also fitted with an indoor air cleaning system working alongside her residential HVAC. It inspired me to do better and become a good HVAC professional. After the apprenticeship was over I was no longer the young man who could not tell how to change an air filter but a technician who knew a lot about different heating and cooling systems and the one whose friends called when they had problems with their furnaces or were not sure which furnace filter was best suited for their system. The first job me and Tom did together before we were fully certified as an air duct cleaning which had not been cleaned for almost a decade and had impacted the air quality in the house. We also installed a programmable thermostat in the same house.
