Better stop that laughing

When I started working at the Heating, Ventilation & A/C device corporation, no one said anything to me! It was taxing to tell people why I was bald.

I was a twenty-five-year-old lady who had alopecia.

I had no hair on my body, plus I would not hide it. My mother actually told me that with a little makeup no one would notice the lack of hair, because I was lovely as I was, plus I believed her. The first afternoon at the Heating, Ventilation & A/C device corporation, I thought I heard some snickers from some of the other Heating, Ventilation & A/C workers. I told them that if they’re laughing at me; they had to stop right now. I heard rumors I was bald because I had cancer, and some of them thought I may be bald because of religious reasons, however no one thought about alopecia. I didn’t mind the baldness in the least. I had always been bald. I was born with no hair, plus I grew no hair as I became older. My friends said nothing except for when we went to the beach. I had to wear a hat to keep my head from sunburning. My buddy laughed at the odd hat I decided to wear. It wasn’t because I was bald, however she was proud to take me dancing or to her family’s household. If she wasn’t ashamed to have a bald wifey, why were they laughing at the bald Heating, Ventilation & A/C device worker they only worked with? When the boss heard what was happening, she was going to say something. I told her to let it go, because something else would come along shortly plus attract their attention, plus my baldness would be entirely old news.
