I am definitely not to the kind of person that you would consider very warm, fuzzy, or affectionate. I tend to be a bit of a cold-hearted loner, to be honest with you. I know that I could be a more welcoming and gracious human. However, I am also aware that I have a lot of personal limitations thanks to my socialization and family history. I don’t think that 40 years of experience are going to disappear in the blink of an eye. This is why I am especially surprised that my family has suddenly gotten so affectionate and touchy, themselves. To be fair, they mostly are directing their attention towards my heating, cooling, and air quality control system more than myself. From the moment that my family told me they were going to come visit my warm Southern residence, I’ve got nervous about my indoor air handling devices. Whenever my family comes down to this warmer, more humid climate they immediately start complaining. They act like a little sunshine and moisture in the air is going to be the death of them. This is why they start messing with my central heating and cooling system the moment that they land. I feel like I have to protect my thermostats and my air conditioning devices from them. Unfortunately, I learned this HVAC fact the hard way when my family visited last time. They spend so much time modifying my central cooling settings that they actually broke my air conditioning system. I’m glad that my family has decided to be more touchy-feely, but I wish it wasn’t directed at my fragile indoor air handling devices.
