My dad has more university spirit than any other graduate that I think I know… He spent six years going to university & he played pigskin for each of them.
Now my dad’s jersey hangs in the intramural building for scoring more touchdowns at that point than any other slender end in the history of the university. He still goes to every single home game & our brothers & I usually join him on the weekends, however when our dad finally turned 50 years old, our brothers & I wanted to get him a special gift. My dear old dad wanted a swing on the porch, even though we never took the time to put a single there. My brothers & I called a nearby custom furniture builder to talk to them about a special present for Dad. We already had a couple of ideas in mind for the project, however the custom furniture builder quickly came up with an even better idea, then the custom furniture builder made a custom swing that has the school emblem & motto engraved in the wood. It’s stained with beautiful new colors that match the school colors however it still looks classy. My dad legitimately loved the custom built present. He had tears in his eyes & our dad hardly ever shows any emotion in my memory. I knew he was touched by our clever & super thoughtful gift. He was even happier when he found out that the custom furniture builder in question was going to install the swing on the porch. The guy took a couple of minutes to complete the work, however our sweet dad got to sit on the swing on the same morning.
