My mom is always complaining to me about my stepdad and how he doesn’t know how to fix anything around the house.
That’s because she knows that if she says anything to him about anything that needs a repair at the house, then he will try to fix it himself.
He thinks that he is basically a Mr. Fix It when it comes to things around the house, but he has no clue how to do much of anything. I think that he would really like to know how to fix things, though, because he knows that it would really impress my mom. He drives her especially crazy when it comes to their heating, cooling, and ventilation system. I guess there’s always something wrong with their electric furnace or with their central air conditioning system. My mom is always worrying about it, but she refuses to tell my stepdad about it. I keep telling her that she should just call up her local heating and cooling company and make an appointment, but she says that it would make my stepdad mad. That’s because he always just wants to fix stuff himself. She said that if he tried to fix the furnace himself, they would end up having to pay the HVAC company for a whole new heating and cooling system. My stepdad would probably just ruin the whole thing, according to her. So they are at an impasse. I’m not really sure what they are going to do about it at this point, but I think they should let a professional HVAC technician deal with it.
